On the road again...

Hello Friends,

Happy late Thanksgiving! I am currently on a train pulling away from Kingston, Rhode Island on my way back to school. I can't believe Thanksgiving break is almost over, nor how long this train ride is, nor how many more times I will have to do it in the future. I must say, however, that I don't think I've ever been more glad to be back home. I guess three months away from home does make you miss it, no matter how much you wanted to get away in the first place. It was great to see my parents, grandparents, dogs, and New York again, and I had so much good food I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to eating dining hall food. I actually really do enjoy Thanksgiving break because I think it really is just enough time to recharge before finals, but not too long that you get too comfortable or your family drives you crazy. Speaking of finals, I can't believe the semester is almost over! It all passed by so quickly, I don't even know what I've been doing for the past three months. Ahh, crises...

In other news, I am now officially an adult! While I am sad that I was not adopted by any of you and also that I am no longer a child, I guess adulthood also has its advantages. Although, I have recently been notified that you now have to be 21 to buy cigarettes. I feel like I've been cheated :( Anyway, my birthday was overshadowed by a much bigger event, the annual H-Y game, which we of course won. I missed the good part, I've been told, because I left at halftime due to the extreme cold and my resulting crankiness. I must admit, it was a pretty lonely birthday, especially for one that was supposed to be my introduction to adulthood. But no matter, because the next day my entryway threw a "surprise" birthday party for me, which I kind of figured out and made them wait for an hour....but long story short, it was a good birthday. Apparently my parents missed me so much that they bought a giant teddy bear to fill my seat at the table and sang "Happy Birthday" to it...Not sure if I should be flattered or creeped out...

I hope everyone's Thanksgivings were good, and that everyone has safe travels on their way back to their respective campuses. I'm not sure if that made grammatical sense, but I've sat for a total of about 10 hours going home and back, so I think I should get a break for my brain cells to recover...

Love Always,
Juliet

I'm Bad and I know it

Hey now I know why some of you forget to post. It is so easy to, especially when things get busy.

I am sorry guys (Juliet don't worry your friends still exist!).

Well I had my concert choir performance last two weeks ago. It was great, we brought the house down with some Rock (Rachmaninoff) and people where literally crying by the end of it.

Personal High: Brad, the concert choir director, and I have had a very tumultuous relationship and I think he kind of hates me, but I am on my way to getting on his good side. In the rehearsal the night before the show he just stopped in between songs and said, "Guys look how well Jordan is holding her folder". Not trying to be boastful, but I can werk a folder like nobodies business. It is quite a thing to see. I did not put said folder down the whole evening, just to show Brad how much I want him to like me.  I now get all the concert choir e-mails, so I think it is working.

After our concert there was a concert choir party. I was hit on by some dudes. This was not the first time it has happened while I have been here. I don't know what to make of it so I am not going to talk about it. Just wanted to share.

This past week I have been ill.

So yeah, no the funnest of times.

Fevers are bad

This kind of fever is excellent.

Then I had a math midterm that I did poorly on.

Then tonight I had a physics midterm I did poorly on.

But I do have some good news. I have some friends now I think, so wuwho:)

Ok that is all.

Sorry it is so short:(

Friends, my friends where have they gone?

Hello Friends!

What is everyone up to nowadays? No one posts :( At least I got to see some of your faces this week!! I hope everyone's weekends have been going well, and as always, I've been thinking of you guys...

The main thing I wanted to share with you is that I saw Interstellar twice this week and I really really enjoyed it. First of all, it was directed by Christopher Nolan, and as you know, Inception is one of my favorite movies and the Batman series was incredible as well. The soundtrack was done by Hans Zimmer, whom I also think is a genius, and the cast: Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Matt Damon...But best of all, it blew my mind. You know how I have existential crises sometimes? Well this took my mind in dozens of new directions and the crisis overload was crazy. Everyone else I saw it with didn't really seem to understand why I was freaking out so much because they were busy talking about the faulty physics in it....#HCproblems...So definitely recommend, let me know what you think! I think I probably will be the only one this excited about it, but that's okay lol.

I have a buttload of HW to do, and I'm sitting in the library with my friend Emerson, who really wanted me to mention him, so HI EMERSON WHO IS READING THIS OVER MY SHOULDER.

Finally, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARISA!!!! <3 I hope the package made it to you safely, and that you have a wonderful birthday because YOU ARE NOW AN ADULT!!! I'm really sad I don't get to celebrate this one with you, but I'll be there in spirit! Now you are all adults and you can still adopt me, at least for a few more days....

Haha, I love you all and miss you tons! Talk to you soon!

Love always,
Juliet

Hodgepodge

Hello Friends!

I hope everyone is doing well and that everyone had a good Halloween! I miss you all so much, and I realize that I have lost touch with nearly everyone so it is now my mission to reach out to you guys at least once a week. Tomorrow I have another math midterm so sadly I must keep this short, but I really look forward to hearing about what everyone else has been up to!

First, I'm sorry you're sick Kyla, I really hope you get better soon, and can we please v-chat soon? (that goes for everyone btw) Jordan, I like your costume though I'm still sad you didn't go party it up as a hustler :(

My days kind of go by in a blur, and yes Jordan I do agree that I feel like I'm stuck in this college bubble, but that's how I felt about high school as well, so I'm not sure if it's inevitable or if I'm just not making a good enough effort to get out of it. I've also been spending WAYY too much money on food and clothes, and I'm afraid it's going to become a problem #confessionsofashopaholic. Which is why...(drumroll please)...I HAVE A JOB! Lol, it's not actually that big a deal, but I'm excited about it (though I'm scared the excitement will wear off really soon). I'm an usher for the big theatre on campus, and I work 5 hour shifts four times a month for $11/hour. It's not much, but I get to see performances for free, so that makes it a lot sweeter! So far I've seen the Boston Philharmonic, two a cappella groups, and two choral societies perform, and while it's a little tough to stay awake for long concerts, I think it's pretty great to get paid to watch performances :).

In other news, I passed my first batch of midterms and my first paper, so yay! Now to survive the monster of tomorrow's exam and my second paper...:( Wish me luck!
I also went out last night for like the first time in 2 months (wow time goes by quickly) and I dressed up as a vampire (I was pretty proud of my makeup, although I didn't really have the costume). While I might regret my decision tomorrow during my midterm, I had fun, so as of right now I'm glad I went. The amount of grinding and making out that was happening around me was quite ridiculous, however. You win some, you lose some.

Finally, IT'S SNOWING!!! It's the wet, miserable kind of snow, but snow nonetheless. It makes me happy and cold at the same time.

Wow, I make so much sense. Maybe I should take a nap. Or study. Or just worry about life. The usual.

I'm going to go now before I ramble even more....
Love Always,
Juliet
